Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” played on repeat throughout Thurstan Redding’s shoot with this year’s Entertainment Innovator, John Legend, who was styled by Karen Kaiser. “I wanted to capture something intimate with him,” says Redding. “I just asked him to relax.” Writer Alan Light puts Legend, with his connections to soul, jazz, gospel and hip-hop, into context: “[He] represents a link between musical generations.”
