Like a bull…
In a ChinaShop is the reference. For this years New York Fashion Week (NYFW if you’re in the know) we teamed up with our stylish friends at ChinaShop for their Fashion’s Night Out party. The event took place at Red Bull Space in Soho, music by AWOLNATION and check out Marina Bychova’s work, very cool. We were represented well and in good company. The ChinaShop site is worth a regular visit… maybe you caught the flattering write up or interview on yours truly??
Not the flavor of the month…
But designer of the day! This is cool, thanks for the acknowledgement. See the whole write up here.
I’ve heard it said that you can’t polish a turd…
…I’ve even said it myself. But I think we’ve done alright making this place shine. About 5 weeks ago we picked up a modest and somewhat crappy little warehouse in downtown LA. The neighborhood is colorful, the space ample and we’ve got a private parking lot for early evening jam sessions & late night BBQ’s. The inside needed a grenade, but we opted for grinding the floors, stripping the walls and some paint. Now it’s home. We’re up and running, casting and all in full effect.
The King Is Open
The grand opening of Mario Barth’s King Ink in the Mirage happened this last Saturday. It was a bash in grand style, replete with drink, beauties and familar faces. I’ll let the pictures tell this story. But please feel free to stop by the shop to recreate the fun the next time you’re in the Mirage. And get yourself some GOOD ART. Tell ‘em JW sent you and you might get a gratis swill with purchase.
Next Level S¸dafrika
This is Die Antwoord. Enjoy.
Thanks Eddie
I’ve collected folding knives since I was little, mostly automatics. They’re illegal to carry and usually hard to buy, but they’re just so cool. I’ve a good few rarities and a bunch of beautiful handmade autos, but I’ve always been missing that perfect example of the movie-style Italian spring steel. Until now. My friend Eddie just sent me this amazing gift. Available from Walt at Lantana Knives. The story goes that Walt convinced the original company making these beauties to fire production up again, and to use better hardware than the originals. This sucker is heavy and opens with great force. There really is nothing like a good switchblade… save for maybe your favorite brass knuckles from the Forties (GAH version coming soon).
RDC
The Rosette Disc Chain, straight from the bench. They’re paired with the Model 9 clasp, so you can hang a pendant or 3 from it if you like.
Shibuya Big War

Famed writer Soudesu Tawaraya immortalized GOOD ART HLYWD on the cover and in the pages of his latest comic book with the use of the Spanish Cross. That’s a black-belt homage, thank you!
New site live… barely.
I figure we’ve got a week or two of sorting this stuff out and adding the features that are going to make this site great. There will† be a shop, a gallery of our friends, loads of cool pics, this incredible blog to offer you a glimpse into the world of GOOD ART and a few other bits to delight. If you’re looking around now, thank you, and please check back soon.
